Work In Progress

Please bear with my remodeling of my Good Movies to Watch. I am shuffling movies from being in one hub to several. The set up of the hubs, which inclues the polls, has created some unforseen challenges with loading time. I feel the polls are the most important element, however, as the view of many will give a truer picture of whether a movie is truly a "good movie to watch." Thus, please take time to vote if you have already seen any of the listed movies. I will continue to add to the list on a regular basis.

The movies are listed alphabetically. Enjoy!

Please feel free to make a comment and share a video that you have watched and share why you liked it.

Wow...we have almost identical taste in movies! I love your list and your blog inspired me to make my own! I would really appreciate it if you checked it out! Really sorry if you consider this spam!

thank you very much

Marcel 2 years ago

It's an interesting list and reminded me to watch some of these movies.

You need to look over the descriptions of the movies a bit though. Several times, you started making a change and then stopped or something, leaving half of the old and half the new sentence in place.

Anyway, nice work. :)

Thanks for the list, lot's of great movies I haven't seen yet. I also highly recommend:

Adaptation

A good year

The life aquatic

The royal tenenbaums

Catch me if you can

A garden state

Death at the furneal (british, not the new one)

Gone baby gone

Life is beautiful

Priscilla queen of the desert

Wristcutters

Trade

Zoolander

Taxidermia

Thank you for your suggestions. I love hearing what everyone else is watching and finding interesting. I know that other readers feel the same way. Please keep sharing. There are so many movies but not all are quality movies.

Samantha - I am glad you stopped by. Did you see anything that you liked? Which movies appeal to you?

V Saxena 2 years ago

Thanks for all the movies! WOW! Not into all of them (the notebook? Need I remind you I have a PENIS!) lol. But I'm definitely digging most of them; ergo, most of them are now on my BitTorrent list (aHAH!)

trimar7 profile image

trimar7 Hub Author 2 years ago

V Saxena I am glad that you have the proper body parts for your gender. lol I am also pleased that you found movies that you like in spite of my trying to please the other gender as well with the other body parts. I just recently hear that It's Complicated is a stitch. I will have to watch it and add it to my list once I find it worthy of both genders :)

EmilyBlythe 24 months ago

I have seen a few movies you've recommended, but my taste of movies tends to fall toward horror, and lesser known movies.

I know everyone has seen, or at least heard of a few of the following of my favorite films:

Accepted

Dazed and Confused

Queen of the Damned

Fight Club

Underworld

The Craft

Taking Lives

Let the Right One In

Orphan

Psycho (original) Vince Vaughn does an excellend job in the newer remake though

In the Land of Women

Rachel Getting Married

Eden Lake

The Last House on the Left

10 Things I Hate About You

Halloween (John Carpenter's original film)

The Birds

A Beautiful Mind

JACK

Valley of the Dolls

Mommy Dearest

Save the Last Dance

Center Stage

etc. I have a wide variety of favorite films, and they're all very good, if you watch with an open mind. Some are horror, some are teen films, some are fantasy, some are drama, and some are foreign. But they all make a mark in your mind when you've watched them.

I just like sharing movies with people who are eager to expand their libraries :)

Vulture 23 months ago

you have all mentioned some great movies - here are some of my favorites, i could name a 1000, but here are the ones on the top of my head

Lock stock and two smoking barrels (Very very good . Snatch aswell!!)

Thanks you for smoking - very interesting

Burn after reading - very entertaining, good actors with not-so-mainstream roles.

o´brother where art thou - so funny

Pulp fiction - ALWAYS

From dusk till dawn

Kill Bill vol. 1

Resevoir dogs - just as good as pulp fiction if you ask me

An education

Seven pounds - One of Will Smiths best performances - moved me to the bone!

Trainspotting

All the presidents men - Robert Redford / Dustin Hoffman - extremely entertaining

This is England

The pink panther - THE OLD ONES!!! the new ones are total horseshit!

Old Bond movies - Casino Royal is the best of the new ones. it was VERY good

The Godfather - of course, number three isnt as good as 1 and 2 though, but it is a must-see

Afterschool - unknown, but brilliantly made

A clockwork orange

Old Michael Caine movies - very nice!!!

American psycho !

Layer Cake

Michael Clayton - brilliantly made with George Clooney

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON! DO NOT MISS IT!

Johnny Depp movies

Donnie Darko !!

Shaun of dead - extremely funny!

Eastern Promises

Jarhead

A guide to recognizing your saints - One of my favorite movies of ALL TIME, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Shia LaBeouf

ALSO one of my favorites is

! WONDERBOY ! - you have to watch it - a spiritual guide

I got tons more, but for now i have told you these, a lot of different movies there. YOU HAVE TO SEE THEM, at least look into them, see if they bring any interest

Thank you - V 4 Vulture

It has been really interesting to observe the polls. As you can see, one person's views of good is not necessarily another person's view. Thus, the range is to provide variety. My philosophy is the more variety of people and personalities, the better.

Hi trimar7,

Netflix really has all kind of good movies in their list.

As you said properly 'taste differs'. My choice is only science/fiction, cartoons and nature oriented movies.

Keep adding some more movies. Anyway, we could also pick some goodones from the comments here. Isn't it good idea?

trimar7 profile image

trimar7 Hub Author 23 months ago

I actually hope that people will find good movies from the comments. There is no way that I could possibly list all of the good movies; thus, the comments are very helpful to people. Thank you all for sharing.

Polk 23 months ago

trimar7 profile image

trimar7 Hub Author 23 months ago

I just couldn't get into Book of Eli but that is what makes the world go around and why I list a variety of movies as good - not just the ones I like.

I am sorry that you could not find a movie you liked. However, there is no way that one could categorize The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, City of Joy and many others as "Chick Flicks." Feel free to suggest any good movies you would recommend. The readers appreciate the suggestions.

WhiteShadoe 18 months ago

Hey lot's of fantastic movies up there and i'll keep any personal bad comments to myself. No need for em. But a couple i noticed that maybe aren't as popular but just as good are

The Gladiator

Chronicles of Riddick (Yes it can it long in some spots)

The Count of Monte Cristoe

Eagle Eye

The Guardian

Guarding Tess

Con Air

Matchstick Men

National Treasure (Yes lots of people dislike it cuz it's not historically sound... its a movie?)

Next

Kick-Ass (best superhero movie ever!)

Dances with Wolves

VANTAGE POINT (if you like movies that **** up your head.... you'll have to watch this movie TWICE to get the full spread >:) )

Frequency

Entrapment

The Hunt for Red October

Dragonheart

The Rock

And i'm out of time and think that's enough for now ^^ Hope some of you enjoy >:)

How interesting! I just had the idea of doing this kind of HUB and started it a couple of weeks ago:

Good Movies Out on DVD

http://hubpages.com/hub/Good-Movies-Out-on-DVD

I am already realizing that there will be organizational difficulties! :D You are handling those nicely!

I, too, am a Netflix member and just love it! I have voted your HUB up, rated it, and will link to it when it shows up in suggested links.

One can never have too many movie reviews! :)

How has no one mentioned the Matrix???? It is an excellent movie. The second and third are alright but the first is definitely a very good movie.
