The Heart
Chia seeds are heart healthy. With the typical dietary in modern times, it is more important than ever to locate additional sources of Omega–3's. Mila helps to offset negative dietary practices as it contains the perfect ratio of 3:1 (3 Omega–3's to 1 Omega–6), all of which makes Chia Seeds are essential for maintaining a healthy heart. They have a vasodilatory effect as it increases the size of the arteries; thus, it may help in the lowering of blood pressure (it does not replace your present blood pressure medicine).
Weight benefits
Almost everyone these days is concerned about being over-weight. Mila supports weight management as it makes you feel full. It is so nutrient-dense that an individual would need to consume approximately 6 times the calories of Mila to achieve the same nutritional benefits. Mila additionally contains an exceptionally high level of Tryptophan, an amino acid that suppresses appetite, therefore it often supports the relief hunger pangs.
Digestive support
According to some research completed by UC Berkeley, it is believed that because chia seeds are a hydrophilic colloid with unique soluble fiber characteristics it helps to form a gel like substance in the stomach which creates a lining or physical barrier that aids in digestion, heartburn and sour stomach conditions. When mixed with a liquid, Mila forms a mass when digested and the chia seeds may aid in slowing and the absorbtion of sugar. It has been reported that it may even help eliminate cholesterol from the body. Gastro–intestinal Health
Anti-aging benefits
The body body regenerates nearly all of its seven–to–ten trillion cells approximately every 90 days? When healthy, stronger, smoother, more elastic cells are properly regenerated, it slows the aging process. Chia seeds helps by fighting the free radical damage. When damaged cells are replicated, premature aging occurs. Humans build toxins. Chia seeds helps to flush out such toxins and promotes skin elasticity. Hair, skin and nails are rejuvenated. Joints are lubricated. Pain leads to premature aging as well. Mila helps to reduce muscles soreness, lowers lactic acid buildup in muscles; thus, it promotes rejuvenation.
Menopause
Chia seeds, as stated, contain high Omega–3 content, which may help to balance hormones. Mila may help to reduce hot flashes.
Bone Health
Chia seeds contains six times more calcium than milk per serving. Mila is a rich source of such essential minerals as phosphorous, magnesium and iron, which all support the absorption and utilization of calcium by the body.
Mental Health
I have written much about the brain. Most of us tend to forget about the need for proper nutrition for the brain. The International Journal of Clinical Practice in accordance with research from Harvard has linked low levels of Omega–3's in the body with mood disorders. It is believed that omega–3's help to keep the brain's pattern of thoughts, reflexes and reactions running optimally.
Other purported health benefits
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has reported that Omega–3's are very important to nourish the developing brain of the baby and to the mental health of the mother. Because Mila contains essential amino acids, phytonutrients, vitamins and minerals including folate (folic acid), extremely important in fetal development, it would make sense that it would be beneficial. However, again, it does not replace prenatal vitamins or other recommended supplements. The other benefits that have been reported are for healthy breast tissue and the prostrate for men. It is also good for seniors since it is so nutrient dense.
Although I personally believe in the benefits of Mila, I caution all that as with any exercise program or the administering of any nutritional supplements, please contact your physician and have a discussion regarding their recommendations before you proceed.
