Niagara Falls - is one of the seven wonders in the world
70The American Side
Folks there is a new movie on the horizon called, The American Side. It stars Greg Stuhr, the nephew of a good friend of mine. You will see beautiful scenery of the American side of the Niagara Falls. You will be on the edge of your seat on this one. Enjoy!
I happen to fortunate enough to live only 15 minutes from Niagara Falls on the United States side. Niagara Falls, one of the top travel destinations in the world, is a place that I go to when I need to think and remind myself that my issues are really quite small in the scheme of things. It takes your breath away to see the mega tons of water rolling off the rocks of the horseshoe sections and other areas of the falls.
If I am to be honest, in my opinion, the Canadian side has the prettiest views of the falls. The flower gardens along the way are really quite spectacular on the Canadian side. There are numerous shops to visit on the Canadian side with unique gifts to gather as mementoes. There are also a number of wax museums and other interesting places to visit. I also enjoy stopping by the butterfly conservatory each time I visit on the Canadian side.
The area boasts casinos restaurants and multiple golf courses on both sides. There are many visitor centers throughout the nearby cities to learn of all that the area has to offer. The casinos offer attractive packages for one night or numerous night stays. The United States side has a quaint restaurant that you must visit and sit on the deck in the summer time when there is a slight breeze and the guests are treated to a slight mist as they enjoy some spectacular cuisine. There are also a number of restaurants on both sides of the falls that offer dishes to please all palettes from any area of the globe.
I have fond memories of enjoying the falls with numerous friends and family members over the years and, yes, some very nice romantic moments with some beaus from my past. One cannot help but feel romantic walking along the walkways of the falls, which is certainly why it draws honeymooners worldwide; this, and the fact that the price is right.
The falls also holds much mystique from the past. The boat of people who were stranded and saved as they traveled the Niagara River is notorious. These folks were more than surprised to feel the rapid flowing water take them along as they neared the falls unbeknownst to them. Fortunately, a huge extended boulder caught them and held them until they could be rescued. There were the folks who were determined to prove that they could go over the falls in barrels or the famous tight rope walkers and Evel Knieval's daring escapade.
Prepare to come off the Maid of the Mist a bit wet but having the time of your life as you are treated to a tour from behind the falls. The whirlpool jet boots are a hoot for those who enjoy a fast paced adventure.
A must see is the fireworks show over Niagara Falls at Night. If you are lucky, you will be able to attend when the show is put to music. Check schedules in advance to determine when such shows will be displayed.
As if all that is not enough the Niagara Falls area offers numerous shows to delight visitors or natives. The nightlife in the Niagara Falls area cannot be beat.
Other attractions
Marine Land is another great place to visit to view many marine animals on acres of attractive land. The shows are spectacular. It's a great place to spend a day with loved ones.
Enjoy the photos. One is prettier than the next. One would be hard pressed to decide which is the most appealing.

Great pics.... Do you have the bigger versions of these photos?
Congratulations on some fine photographs and thank you for the interesting, informative Hub! Perhaps you may wish to add some images or a review at trivago also?
Regards, Pierre
Beautiful pictures! One of the places I haven't been to yet - now I want to go!
I was there with my family in 1959 before there were any casinos...at least I do not remember any being there. As you say.....the falls are magnificent and the Canadian side, the prettiest. What a place for dating! Great photos!

You've brought back many fond memories of a visit to Buffalo and Niagara in the fall of 2007. Lovely pics too!
There were two places in the US that gave me the same feeling you described. Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon are so very different and far apart from each other, but in their sheer size and stark natural beauty they evoke a similar response, "a place ... [to] go to when I need to think and remind myself that my issues are really quite small in the [entire] scheme of things."
